We would rather spend an extra hour with you on delivery day than have a £10,000 mower sat idle in a shed a week later because nobody is sure how to start it. That is the philosophy. The specifics are below.
What “delivered” means at LLM Groundcare
Every machine over £1,000 ships fully assembled, fuelled, oil-checked, blades sharp, and with an on-site demo at handover. The driver is trained on the machine they are delivering. They will not leave until you have started it, used the controls, and asked any questions you wanted to ask. If you are buying for a team, the demo can cover up to two operators on the same visit.
For lighter accessories, parts and small tools, we use a courier and standard packaging. For bigger machines, we use our own vehicles or a specialist transport partner with the right trailer and tail-lift for ride-on and zero-turn mowers.
That setup costs us more than dropping a crate at the kerb. It exists because a commercial mower handed over without context is a service ticket waiting to happen. The hour we spend on delivery day is usually the cheapest hour either of us will spend in the first year.
Where we deliver
UK mainland
Free delivery on every machine over £1,000. For lower-value items, the courier rate is shown at checkout.
Highlands, Northern Ireland, offshore islands
We can almost always deliver, but the cost depends on the route and the machine. Quoted on enquiry. Email [email protected] with your postcode and the machine and we will come back with a firm price within one working day.
Outside the UK
We do not currently deliver outside the UK. If that changes for a specific export-grade machine and a known customer, we will say so on the product page.
Lead times
Lead times we quote are estimates given in good faith based on the supplier’s stock and our delivery schedule.
| Type | Typical lead time |
|---|---|
| Stock machine, mainland UK | 5–10 working days |
| Approved Used machine, mainland UK | 7–14 working days (allows for the 47-point pre-sale workshop check) |
| Special-order or built-to-order new machine | 4–6 weeks |
| Highlands / NI / offshore | Add 2–4 working days to the above |
We will call or email to book a delivery slot once the machine is ready to leave us. You can pick a weekday window that suits the site.
What we ask of you on delivery day
To make the demo work and to get the machine to where it will be used, please:
- Have someone on site who can sign for the machine and is going to use it.
- Tell us in advance about any access constraints — narrow gates, low bridges, soft ground, locked yards. A 1.5-tonne ride-on does not fit through a 1.2 m gate, and we would rather find that out before the trailer arrives.
- Have somewhere safe to keep the machine until first use. A dry garage, lockable shed or covered bay is fine.
If we arrive and cannot complete the delivery for reasons within your control — site is locked, no one available to sign, access is impossible — we will arrange a re-delivery. A return trip on a specialist trailer is not free. We will tell you the re-delivery cost at the time so you can decide whether to wait for our next planned route in your area.
Damage in transit
It happens occasionally. If the machine arrives damaged:
1. Note it on the delivery note before signing, even if the damage looks minor. “Signed unchecked” or “damaged on arrival” is enough. 2. Take photos before the driver leaves. 3. Email [email protected] the same day with the order number and the photos.
We will sort the repair, replacement or refund as fast as the carrier and the manufacturer allow. We do not let transit damage become your problem — it is between us and the courier from that point.
Risk and ownership
Risk in the goods passes to you when we hand them over (or when our courier does, on lighter consignments). Legal ownership passes only when we have received cleared payment in full. Until then, the machine remains our property. This is standard trade language and exists to protect both of us if something goes wrong with payment.
Storage and rescheduling
If you need to delay delivery after we have built and inspected the machine, we will store it for free for up to 30 days. After that, we may charge a small storage fee — we will tell you what it is before it kicks in.
